Sondre Norheim was a Norwegian famous for his skiing abilities, inventing some ski turns, modern bindings and skiis. Sondre is referred to as the "Father of Skiing" or the "Father of Modern Skiing." He left Norway to live in (flat) North Dakota, USA. His new American (North Dakota) friends were unaware of legacy he left behind in Norway.
