This all depends on what you are doing! If you are just target shooting, it will go a fairly good distance, I'd say around 100-200 yards for a .22 LR. Unfortunately, it has very little power behind it at 200 yards. However, if you are using it for small game hunting, you should use it at a distance of about 50 yards or less for accuracy's sake.

I can say that i shot a fine Antelope buck with my 270Win caliber rifle at 403 paces in Wyoming.I have seen this caliber make many kills from that distance on in to 35 yards.It all depends on the game animal hunted,and most important your rifle skills.
