Browning
It is very recreational and great activity where participants using shotgun shooting chokes. It is one of the three major disciplines of clay pigeon shooting, sporting clays and trap shooting. There are many types of skeet which include Olympic skeet or international skeet. It is designed to be a 30-inch circle at 21 yards distance.
In baseball, basketball, or golf, the goal is to put the ball where you want it. Thw same things apply to target shooting. It may be to score the most hits in the center (bullseye), the smallest grouping of shots, or to hit a moving target (skeet, trap, clays). It is coordinating your motions with the firearm.
It depends what type of shooting intake part in clay sporting competitions with a 1/4 and 1/2 choke, this is acceptable and is more than sufficient to hit some of the most challenging clays. This is a very common choke set up for sporting.
If you mean how much does it cost to go clay pidgeon shooting, it depends on the sport and the club. Average prices for a round (25 targets) of trap or skeet run usually between $4 to $7 depending on the location. That does not include ammo. Sporting clays cost more.
Trap shooting has it's original roots in Great Britain. It was a method of shooting targets instead of live pidgeon which was banned.
A shotgun shell made for the game of trap shooting.
Double trap shooting is where the thrower throws 2 rocks at the same time instead of just 1.
This is a difficult question - ask 10 people and you'll get 10 answers. For clay trap and double clays, it's hard to beat a quality over and under or a side by side 12 guage. For upland game birds, a solid pump or semi automatic from any number of manufacturers will work. If your budget allows only one shotgun, a 12 guage semi-auto that shoots a 2 3/4 shell will work for clays and most game birds. My personal preference is for the Remington 1100. They have been around for years and replacement parts are easy to find.
If you mean the large event, it is called a trap meet. If you mean the competition for say first place, it is called a shootoff.
