There are 2 catches in slide to hold open. The first is for disassembling, rotate barrel 90 degrees to align groves of barrel into slide. Then rotate safety down while holding slide, (It will fly off if you don't) and slide with barrel will slide off front of frame together. Recoil rod-spring Assembly will drop out as well as striker spring and button be care full not to lose them!

You mean to use the safety as a slide lock? This happened to me. It turns out I was missing the trigger return spring. The trigger has to be in the forward position for the safety lever to be able to move. Try pulling the trigger forward the next time you try this. Another thing I noticed about my gun, when I realease the slide by lowering the safety lever the hammer falls about 20% of the time! Seems to be fine otherwise.

Make sure the weapon is unloaded, remove the magazine and then make sure the safety is in the off position. Pull the slide to the rear about 1 inch until the slide stop is below the notch in the slide. Hold the slide in that position and push the slide stop pin from right to left and remove the pin. Let the slide move forward and off the frame. At this point, you have access to the recoil spring and barrel. You can remove the recoil spring, guide rod and barrel at this point.

To take the Armi Galesi Brescia Brevetto 6.35/.25 Auto Apart. Remove the magazine and check the chamber for a round. Lower the safety around while pulling the slide back. The notch that the safety locks into on the slide will give you just enough room to rotate the back end of the safety around 180 degrees. Once the safety has been rotated, a block on the rear of the slide will protrude out. After the block has been pulled as far out as it will allow, pull the slide back carefully and then lift up and away from the frame of the gun. The slide should pop up. Then move the slide forward to allow it to escape the barrel and recoil spring. The firing pin is located inside the slide and it can fall out, so watch it. The recoil spring is attached to the barrel. If done correctly, tada. You're Galesi is now field stripped and ready to do what ever you were going to do to this amazingly simple gun. Hope this helps.

Place the slide in the opening with the slide pull in the correct general location. Place the spring and spring guide, all the way compressed, into the slide and hold tight with a small pair of needle nose pliers. Hold onto the spring and guide with the pliers while you ease the slide into place over top of the slide pull and into the proper place. Once it is there, place the guide tip into the keeper hole and carefully let go with the pliers. It can be very tricky so wear safety glasses and be patient if you do not get it on the first try.

Remove the slide. Push firing pin forward with 1/16" pin punch & then put a 3/32" pin punch between the back end of the firing pin & the back of the slot in the slide to hold the firing pin forward. Place the end of a small straight tip screwdriver between the right side end of the safety & the interior wall of the slide. Now twist the screwdriver to move the safety out to the left side of the slide. As you do this slowly, be carefull not to let the safety plunger & spring fly away on you. Mine tends to pretty well stay in the hole & not fly out. Once you have the safety out of the slide, carefully remove the 3/32" pin punch holding the firing pin forward to allow removal of the firing pin & spring. Reverse the procedure to reinstall.

Make sure the pistol is unloaded by removing the magazine and locking back the slide by pushing the safety upward into the disassembly slot (the one towards the front of the slide) while the slide is retracted. 2. Remove the slide stop by pushing the slide top pin from the right side of the gun. You might have to wiggle the stop a little bit to make it come out. 3. Hold the slide and release the safety. Move the slide forward and off the frame. 4. Remove the spring and guide. Be careful to not let the spring fly. 5. Lift the barrel out of the slide Further disassembly is not recommended.
