Water Polo is so named because of its likeness to normal polo and the fact that it is played in water. In reality, it is more similar to Rugby but "water rugby" doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

There are 7 people on a team including the goalie. You cannot touch the sides or the bottom, you must tread (egg beater), The positions are (from the cage) Left wing, Whole Set, Right Wing, Left Flat, Point, Right Flat, there are 4 quarters and they can be 4-7 min long depending on league (high school, college, pro), IT IS ONE OF THE HARDEST SPORTS AROUND!

Because that's their opinion. I play, and I think it's fun. It's just like people thinking Rugby or Netball or any other sport is fun.
