It depends on the break. But it's good when the wind is blowing the opposite direction the waves are coming in. And there's a swell. If you're a beginner, go when the wave is 1-2 feet and the water isn't too choppy.

its lovely to surf on a nice hot day, but you should get out in any weather! whenever the surf is pumping really a lot of the time the swell is really small in summer. Winter is the best because sometimes you can score a sneaky sesh with a big swell and a light offshore... PERFECTION
