That speed is about correct (i checked his time records), however that is just over 4 miles per hour. Sprinters can go faster than 25 miles per hour. Use the Google calculator. Ex: Phelps 200 meter Fly in 1:52:03 This is 1.8709 minutes, At Google box type in: convert 200 m per 1.8709 minutes to miles per hour <- or convert 200 m per 1.8709 minutes to kilometers per hour <- Answer: 3.985 mph or 6.414 kph.
