Well, there is 6 billion people in the world. And in some third world countries many people have surf boards but not cars. So i would guess around 30 million people world wide it is a rough estimate so dont take it if you need it for a report =p.

β 13y agoA lot of people surf. Actual numbers may be hard to come by, and that's the bottom line. There may be between 15 and 25 million worldwide. That's a lot of surfers, and the range is broad (a reflection of the uncertainty of the numbers).
Certainly the number of surfers varies by area. Most people who surf live relatively near the ocean so they can participate more frequently with less hassle. That only makes sense. And participation varies in different locales around the world.
