A lap can be either 25 meters or 50 meters. In the Olympics and major National events the swim 'long course' which means the pool is 50 meters in length. However, there are still short course swim meets and the pool is only 25 meters. If you are talking about a track lap, it is 400meters! 25 METERS IT NOT THAT LONG. BUT WHEN YOU GET INTO IT YOU GET USED TO DOING MORE LAPS!!!
To begin with, Olympic swimming competitions occur in pools that are 50 meters long -- in swimming parlance, a "long course meters" or LCM pool. Now, as to the definition of a "lap"--that's a matter of (frequent) argument. The strict definition of "lap" would suggest it's 2 lengths, but the reality is that most of the general public really means just a single length. It is for this very reason that you'll almost never hear a competitive swimmer utter the word "lap." What you will hear instead is the actual distance ("swim three 100s") or, less commonly, the word "length."
It depends what event you do i a swim meet. Like 1oo free, 200 free, etc. But 100,25, 50 doesn't man 50 laps or whatever,it means yards or meters. See, each lap is a 25 yard or meter lap. So 100 is 4 laps. Thanks :)
To build a rectangular lap pool in Tucson, Arizona will cost around $150,000. This can vary greatly depending on exactly how big you want it to be and what company you use.
An Olympic pool is 50 meters in length so 50 meters would be one length of the pool .
I am assuming by professional, you mean Olympic size. An Olympic size pool is 50 meters. The most common lap pool is 25 yards.
Okay...i know that when i go to swim practice, i swim for a good hour and a half. i know that while im there(swimming constantly)i burn about 1200 calories. So, it doesnt matter how many laps you swim; its how long and how intense. Your very welcome, Grace Kelly Katz5..... well if you want laps, you would have to swim 10-12 laps; there and back counting as one lap. So if you did that you would burn 500 calories, and if you were in a 25 meter pool you would have to swim about 20 laps; there and back counting as one.
I need someone to answer i know that a pool is 25 back and forth is 50 so i want to know is 4 laps back and forth are 200meters or 200 feet or something
According to my calculations it takes around 10-12 seconds
The average size of an indoor pool in a private residence is 32 ft x 16 ft. This can be varied but the 2:1 proportions are aesthetically correct. Lap pools are different - usually because of the wish of the owner for a longer lap to swim. They create some difficulties in room layout and in underwater lighting, but these can usually be overcome Peter Fenton. Consultant. Indoor-Pool-Design.com
It depends on what the lap is of. Running around a track? around a football field? swimming a lap in a pool?
3 laps: 1st lap= 8min 2nd= 8.4min 3rd= 7.3min Total time= (8+8.4+7.3) = 23.7min It took the girl 23.7min to swim 3 laps
66. 1650 yards is a mile. 500 is 20 laps. 100 is 40. 1650 is 66 ;)
This depends what type of swimming pool you are in. If your in a 50m pool, then 1 lap is bound to be 50m, then it's the exact same in a 25m pool, you would have swam 1 lap which is equivalent to 25m.
