Water Polo is a game played in a swimming pool, with six players from each team in the pool at once, one being a goalie. For every goal the shooter's team is awarded one point, and the goals are similar to soccer goals, but they float on the water and are a little smaller. There is one ball, which floats in the water, and if you lean on it too hard it'll go under water and it becomes the other team's ball. There are penalties, etc., but I won't go into that too much. There are penalties if you touch another player (on the opposing team) on the head, if you put the ball under, if you attack the goalie, and yeah, you pretty much get the idea. There are 4 quarters in a game, and to keep yourself afloat you have to be able to tread water, which can get tiring at first, but when you get used to it you should be fine. Some people call this 'egg-beater' because your legs move in a way that makes them look like egg-beaters. Good luck to anyone beginning water polo or if you're just generally interested in the sport.
There are two main types of Bicycle Polo. The original version, played on grass and the newer incarnation, hardcourt bike polo.
The basic rules of hardcourt bike polo are as follows:
* Three members to a team * Like contact is allowed, bike to bike, mallet to mallet, person to person * Players may only score with the round "end" of the mallet with a clean strike to the ball. * Goals are roughly a bike length wide. ~150cm * Players may not touch the ground with their feet. If they do they are "out" of play and must "tap out" at a centrally defined location before being able to play the ball again.
* Games are played to 5 points. Timed or not.
those two sports are totally different the polo is the land sport and water polo is a water sport :D
For mens water polo there are 14 colleges/universities that play in division III. For women's water polo there are 19 colleges/universities that play in division III.
Most countries play water polo in some shape or form, ranging from national teams competing in the likes of the Olympics to school and small-time clubs just playing for fun. It would probably be easier to list the countries that do not play water polo than those that do.
don't know which polo but my guess is 1) in the grass w/horses the other is 2) in the water w/a water polo ball :D

It has been said that polo players that did not have the money to play on the campos (fields) played on the beaches and as the tide rose, they had to play in the water and ended up ditching the horses. This could just be legend but it is a fun story.
Yes, yes indeed water polo is gay. If you play water polo then you have nothing to do with your life and just want to prune in a pool full of men in speedos with raisin dicks. Try a new sport like beer-pong or hopscotch. I have never met a water polo player that was not a complete fag**t. If you watch horror movies by yourself and worship the devil, go play water polo. You should play a harder sport like hotdog eating or extreme sheep wrestling.
Water Polo is a very different sport to Polo. The way it is played is completely different and the equipment is different. There are no horses involved, just like there are no mallets involved and the ball is also different. Water Polo has its own rules.
