dirt in the speed snsor bad speedo head in the dash
You've got an electrical fault, and it's not fuses.
More info would help here. There is a cable that runs from the back of the speedo, to the trans. There is a cable running through the outer case of the cable. The core spins, which activates the speedo head. Disconnect the cable at the trans, and spin the core with your fingers, while someone whatches the speedo. It should jump, when you spin it. No jump, bad cable, or speedo. If it jumps, then the plastic gear it connects to inside the trans, is bad. Chevy dealer has them. They are color coded according to rear gear ratios. If the speedo is bad, a speedo shop, or, a reproduction company like Classic ind., or Year 1, will help you.
i dont know if the fiesta mk6 speedo is electric or mechanical, but if were mechanical, it would either be a bad speedo cable, a bad speedo, or a bad gearbox. if it were electrical, i would think that again it could be the speedo, or it could be the wiring, the sensor, or a computer if there is one
If the speedo stops also, it is the speed sensor. If just the odometer, take it to a speedo shop.
Needs lubrication, use only speedo lube from parts house, not motor oil, it is special oil, ask for it.
yes everybody knows it will happen.
