You should use a tampon, it's hard to use at first, but you should get used to it. If your period is almost over or just started and is light, you shouldn't have a problem. make sure you have a backup plan just incase it gets heavier, sometimes you could think it's over, but it might not be. hope this helps!!

You mustn't go swimming while wearing sanitary pad because the pad will be wet and it is dirty. However, you can swim while wearing a tampon. It will not absorb very much the water from outside of your body. When you get out of the pool/ocean/lake, change your tampon or go back to a sanitary napkin.

Yeah, you can wear a pad while swimming. But I recommend wearing two bikini bottoms, because your underwear will become more loose in the water. So just wear two tight bikini bottoms, and board shorts. Then you're set :)

Sorry, but you can't. Here's why:

1. When you bleed, the blood just flows around and doesn't go away.

2. Pads cant get wet

3. You'll be able to see your pad.

I know, it stinks, but it's true

To swim during your period use one of the following:

  • Tampons
  • Soft tampons
  • Menstrual sponges
  • Menstrual cups
  • Diaphragms
  • Softcups

You can't wear pads in the water because the blood won't flow down into the pad, and even if it did the pad would be saturated with water so unable to absorb the blood anyway. Disposable pads would also potentially fall apart and come unstuck in the water, as well as look bulky in the swimsuit.

Menstrual cups are the best option as they're internal like tampons but safe so no health risks like TSS, this means that unlike tampons you can wear cups even if your period is light and you can wear cups for up to 12 hours so no having to get out the pool to change every few hours. Menstrual cups are also good for swimming as there is no string showing outside your body, they don't absorb water, don't increase cramps as tampons can, and don't leak like other options can.

No, you cannot wear a pad in the water as it simply won't work.

In the water the blood wouldn't flow down onto the pad, even if it did the pad would be saturated with water so unable to absorb the blood anyway. If you use disposable pads they would come unstuck from your swimsuit and potentially fall apart too, or at least look bulky in your swimsuit.

You need to use options like tampons, menstrual cups, or softcups to go in the water on your period.

No you can't. You have to wear a tampon or not go swimming at all.

I do. I'm scared of tampons; terrified! I just wear bikini bottoms with a pad inside, with board shorts over. The period stops from water pressure, so no need to worry.

It's not recommended. My significant other recommends not swimming at all while on your period. I'll assume she's better informed about these things than I am.
