When they can smell blood in the water.
Sharks rarely come near shore at beaches. Unless you're swimming with sharks, I wouldn't recommend swimming. Blood makes sharks react and could kill you brutally.
Sharks aren't likely to be somewhere that you're swimming, but they can smell even the smallest trace of blood in the water. Sharks are unlikely to come and kill you if you go swimming on your period using tampons. This is largely a moot point, just don't go swimming with sharks.
Yes, because sharks can smell blood vey well. If you are swimming in an area with a history of frequent shark attacks, it is best to not go swimming while you have your period.
-sharks have cartalige, NOT bones -the myth "a shark can sense a drop of blood in an olympic sized swimming pool", not true. they could smell a drop of fish blood, not human blood...-the dorsal fin on a shark is bent backwards-sharks can have anywhere between 5-7 gills-sharks are attracted to flashy/bright/highly contrasting colors because they remind them of a fish-sharks can range from being able to hold them in your hand, to being over 60 feet long

Sharks are very adapt predators when in their habitat, the ocean. They are excellent swimmers and can locate a drop of blood in the water from a very long distance. Sharks breathe underwater by swimming constantly.
There is no scientific evidence to suggest that urine attracts sharks. Sharks are more attracted to the smell of blood and prey in the water than they are to other bodily fluids. It is always best to follow local guidelines and avoid urinating in the water while swimming in areas where sharks are known to frequent.
1) that sharks attack surfers because of 'mistaken identification' 2)that sharks are man eaters and are out to get us 3)that a shark can tow away a boat 4)dogs attract sharks 5)sharks can detect a pin head amount of blood from up to mile away
