Teahupoo is known as the heaviest wave in the world by many people. When a swell moves in over the reef it builds up out of nowhere and slams into some of the most insane barrels in the world. The water is around 6 feet deep and the waves use all of it leaving exposed reef in front and an extremely powerful force behind you. One slip and you are probably going to get hurt. This is probably the most dangerous place to surf that is worth Surfing. I'm sure there are some crazy spots somewhere but danger is only worth the rush.
