I copied this formation from a top 10 player, thinking it was too defensive but it works amazing, in my case with Barcelona because my offense players are fast (Messi, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Henry), you are strong in the back and can still score plenty of goals.

P.S: That setup helps a lot against laggers.

the Best Formation in Fifa 09 to use is 4-1-2-1-2 which balances ur attack and defence and gives u width on the wings.

I personally prefer to do a custom formation that goes like this 4-1-5

oh btw lierpool and Italy suck.

this works best for teams in the highest of their nations league. for team tactics u keep clicking attack until it is 3/4 of the way up the bar.creatve feedom stays in the middle. passing very short, pace very quick and width as far as the bar will allow you to go. /the final two team instuctions, tacking and defensive line, stay as they are. for both corners u select 6 yard box, and for freekicks you select best header. finally make sure u have the following arrows for certain positions.

cm-no arrow am's- arrow pointin forward str-no arrow
