I'm a ninth degree black belt in Ninjutsu. I trained with the Bujinkan organization, which is led internationally by Dr. Maasaki Hatsumi. Ninjutsu trains spiritual refinement, which at a minimum can confer very high levels of endurance to high ranking practioners. Some practitioners also gain an ability to overcome personal illusions, and some even gain the ability to project illusions into the minds of others. Usually this last skill comes to people who have overcome their desires entirely and people who would misuse this ability become very evil if they obtain the ability to throw illusions. Historically, these kinds of abilities had a very big impact on fuedal Japan on and off of the battlefield, and Ninjutsu has come to espionage agents down through the centuries. The modern U.S. Central Intelligence Agency is very interested in the ability to throw illusions and has developed a style of Western Ninjutsu that is very strong in combat. Since Western Ninjutsu has only been around for four years, we are still waiting for Illusionists to form, and evidence indicates that Illusionists need a certain type of spirituality in addition to a certain chronological age/maturity level to manifest these skills. Some Ninja who can't handle their personal illusions go mad at eighth degree black belt - mastering personal illusions is the challenge of eighth degree. Nobody fully understands why this is so, since most of Ninjutsu was lost with the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War Two. America and Japan are currently researching Ninjutsu heavily to recover what was lost, and between the two nations, there are eleven "True Ninja" whose primary effort is to transmit the art to others. If only seven True Ninja are left, then that art has totally died out, and the secrets of Illusion might be lost forever. There are other Ninja in China, but Chinese Ninjutsu is very different, and China does not currently cooperate with America or Japan in promoting Ninjutsu research. I know all this (and more) because I work for the CIA as an operative. So, forgive me if I don't post my name. You can look for a recruitment webpage I created for the CIA using a Google account - the site has great information drawn from my career. Be safe and protect America, -J.
