Lionel Pretoria Conacher was one of Canada's greatest athletes, excelling in football, hockey, boxing, Lacrosse, Baseball, and Wrestling. He was a member of the Toronto Argonauts 1921 Grey Cup winning team and played hockey for several teams in the NHL between 1925-1937. He had a successful political career after his sports days. He was named Canada's greatest athlete for the first half of the 20th century and is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, and the Hockey Hall of Fame.
