Richie McCaw became the captain of the New Zealand All Blacks in 2004. He led the team for the first time in a test match against Ireland on June 12, 2004. Under his leadership, McCaw became one of the most successful captains in Rugby history, culminating in two Rugby World Cup victories in 2011 and 2015.
