The 6 Nations began in 2000, when Italy joined the 5 Nations championship. Since the 6 Nations came into existence and up to the end of the 2018 championship, Ireland has won it four times, in 2009, 2014, 2015 and 2018.

Going back to the 5 Nations and its various predecessors and including the 6 Nations, Ireland has won 14 championships, 8 of which they were joint winners.

The 6 Nations Championship only came into existence in 2000, when Italy joined the teams that competed for the 5 Nations Championship. Up to the end of the 2014 Championship, Ireland have won it twice. They won it in 2009 and again in 2014.

Note that the 2015 championship is ongoing at the time of answering the question (6th March 2015) and Ireland lead the championship with 2 matches remaining, having won all 3 of their opening games. They are now favourites to win the 2015 Championship.

Ireland has won the Six Nations Championship 4 times. They clinched the title in 1948, 2009, 2014, and 2015. So, if you're looking to place your bets, those are the winning years to keep in mind.
