Pretty sure you need a passport or a driver's license and birth certificate.
if you don't have a passport they will let you cross with a birth certificate and drivers license, if you don't have either don't bother they won't let you cross,
The above answer is only partially true if you chose to use government issued id and it looks like it is sponsored by those who say you need one. (see the weblinks??)
the truth is you do not need one but you must have your papers ready to show. the government isssed identification are not your papers. the papers i speak of are your responsibility to maintain. i know a gentlemen who crosses the border with only this in the back of his bible. i can hear it now, a right wing christian nut job. Is that really adult thinking??? You may want to ask why he can do this an not need any government issued id?
no you can not!
Yes. They do issue birth certificate.
In Canada, for Birth Certificate related inquiries visit the Service Canada website. A quick link is below: In the United States or other Country, visit a government website for information related to Birth Certificates.
If you were born in Canada, how did you get a US birth certificate in the first place???
After June 1, 2009, you will need a passport. Until then, your drivers license and original birth certificate or certified copy will suffice.
No passport required

You will have to stay in Canada until you are able to obtain the appropriate valid government-issued photo identification that is required to enter the United States. A birth certificate is not sufficient to enter the US, even for a minor.
The authorized birth certificate may refer to the Original birth certificate rather than the Copy of the Birth Certificate.
