The question as phrased does not limit the points to one break. At the end of a frame, with the addition of various fouls and free balls, the total SCORE for a player, can be higher than 162(the 155 maximum break and the 7 points received for the opponent hitting/potting the black when playing a red). This score could include various foul shots and other breaks.

In theory there is no limit to the amount someone can score in a break of snooker. It would depend on the relative playing skills of the two players. A very good player might get a very high score (multiple snookers, foul shots, breaks) against a poor opponent.

If a player begins with a foul shot and leaves the opponent snookered on all reds, the opponent then may select a 'free ball'. They may then pot it as a red and then pot the black, then reds and blacks, and all the colours. Their break would be 155 .This is the maximum BREAK in snooker.

Theoretically, the maximum you can score form one stroke is 16: if a coloured ball is snookering all reds, you can then play that colour as a red. If you then sink it and all other reds in the same shot, you would score the whole 16 points (one for each red, and one point for the colour, which is counted as one red for that shot). This is extremely unlikely to ever happen, though. But the next highest score would be 12: if the black snookered the pink on colours only, both could be sunk for six points each. The same goes for 10 (snookered by pink or black on the blue) or 8 (any of those three when on the brown). However, given the relative probability of any of these ever happening ever actually happening, the most a player would normally score is 7, by sinking the black.

The highest break in a snooker match is 155. To get this break your opposition must foul and leave a "free ball" or her shot immediately before the break began. The player can then pot the free ball worth 1 point, follow it with a black worth 7, and then complete a standard 147 break by potting 15 reds, 15 blacks and all the colours. So their initial 8 points of the break and the 147 of the rest of the break gives 155.

7 points is the most that can be legally potted with a single shot in Snooker. That can only be done by potting the black. You cannot pot more than one ball in a shot, with the exception of potting more than one red. The likelihood of potting more that 7 reds in one shot is practically nil, and given the way scores are got in snooker, it would not be an advantage for a player to pot more than one red in a shot.

You get no points for a snooker. A snooker is when you leave your opponent where they can not directly hit an object ball, because another ball is in their path, or possibly they are in the jaws of a pocket and the pocket is blocking their shot. You will only get points if the player then fouls. So you can get a player into a snooker and if the player does not foul on the next shot, you get no points. You don't get points for putting them in a snooker; you get points if they foul after you have got the snooker. If the player does foul, then you will get either 4, 5, 6 or 7 points, depending on the foul that the player makes.

[15 if you managed to pot every red on the table in one shot.]

Actually it's 16 if you start with a free ball and all 15 reds on the table!

A player can get zero points in a frame of snooker, so that is the lowest. The lowest valued ball is the red ball, which is worth 1 point.

155 has been made in a practice match. 147 is the maximum that has been made televised.

15 - if you hit the white and it pots all 15 reds. Any other shot would be a foul.
