France. The game is also known as petanque, or jeu provencal. It's believed to have originated in France, from where it travelled to other countries. It is also played in Italy, where it's known as bocce and in Britain, where it's known as lawn bowls, though the French version is slightly different from these games.
The bias on lawn bowls is the side of the lawn bowl that is heavier. Different types of bowls will have stronger biases and depending on where the weight is in the bowl it might have a gradual lean or a strong hook turn.
Lawn Bowls is not an olympic sport, however it is a part of the Commonwealth Games
