A round of Golf is usually 18 holes. But if there is a match which is still a tie after the stipulated round, playoff holes can be played until the match is settled, there is no limit to how many holes are played, unless settled by the competition committee.
Ultimate frisbee is a sport. In addition, many high schools (like mine) and colleges have now created frisbee teams and hold competitions. Check out upa.org for more information!
Dormie or dormy is a golf term meaning the player is ahead by as many holes as remain to be played in match play.
In golf, dormie means, that a player is up, by as many holes that are left. They only have to halve or win one of the remaining holes to win the match.
Ed Headrick is considered the Founder/Father of Frisbee GolfI personally started playing Frisbee golf in the early 1970's. We would pick targets, such as trees , light poles, statues, etc. I'm sure many people started playing Frisbee golf the same way. It was in 1975-6 that Ed Headrick head of marketing at Wham-O designed and patented the first Frisbee Golf Pole Hole. Now there are several Disc Golf Pole Hole manufacturers and thousands of Disc Golf Courses around the world.

There are usually 18 holes in a golf course; some have 9 holes or some multiplier of 9 holes. I have played at golf clubs with 9, 18, 27 and 36 holes. However, a standard "round of golf" at most golf clubs / courses involves 18 holes.
