The most common pocket billiards games are 9 Ball, 8 Ball, and Straight Pool. All of htese use a cue ball as well. 9 Ball uses a total of 10 balls. 8 Ball uses 16, and Straight Pool uses 16. Baseball uses 22 total. The game of 7 ball never caught on, started to speed up televised play as compared to 9 ball, but it uses 8 balls total.
