I would like to add on to the other answer above.
You can only castle if both your king and the rook you're castling with didn't make a move yet, and you can't castle into a check. You can't castle vertically, since it will require a move to make the rook or the king vertical.

The main purpose in Chess is to surround and capture the king in such a way that it can't escape. There are 6 different types of chess pieces on the board. the first is pawn. There are 8 pawns, shaped like short people. Pawns can only move up one space, with the exception that at the very first move one pawn makes it can move up two spaces or one. However, pawns only move to their front direction. The second type of chess piece is the rook. There are two rooks, shaped like castles. Rooks can move horizontally and vertically, forward and back, side to side, in any amount of spaces you wish. but the only move they can't make is diagonally, or slanted. The third type of piece is the knight. There are two knights, shaped like horses. Knights can move in an L-shape, and is the only piece that can jump over other pieces. This piece's movements are hard to explain, but if you search them in Google, you can find out how to use them in play. The fourth type of chess piece is the bishop. There are two bishops, and they are shaped with a long stick and a spade on top with a cut diagonally down the piece. Bishops can only move diagonally, in any direction and any amount of spaces. The fifth type of chess piece is the king. There is only one king, and it is shaped with a cross on the top. The king can move in any direction, however can only move one space is any direction. You have to guard the king at all times, because the object of the game is capturing the king from the other player's side. The last and strongest piece in chess is the queen. The queen can move in any direction, in any amount of spaces you wish, but cannot jump over pieces. warning: do not mistake the bishops for the queen. The queen has a frilly/flowery top piece and no cut diagonally across the piece.
Each piece has different values/points. Pawns are worth 1 point each, rooks are worth 5 points each, knights are worth 3 points each, bishops are worth 3 points each, the queen is worth 9 points, and the king, once you trapped him, is priceless (you basically won the game)
Hope that this helps! have fun playing chess!
The computer looks at millions of possibilities and then calculates a formula to pick the best one. First the computer builds a 'tree' of the different possibilities and assigns a value to each one. Whichever possible move has the highest value the computer moves. The computer also looks at the variables, for example, how the king would be vulnerable and the control of the center of the board.

object
The object of the game is to checkmate your opponent's king or by capturing all your opponent's chess pieces except for the king (automatic win).
rules
You cannot move your king into check, as well as a checkmate. You would have to redo that move if you did, and command your king to a different place. You obviously cannot cheat, and it is legal to resign.
chess pieces' moves
knight: a 4 block L shaped move
pawn: 1 block forward (attack diagonally) (legal to move 2 spaces meaning a push pawn on starting point)
king: 1 block any direction
queen: any block any direction
bishop: any block diagonally
castle: any block horizontally and vertically
how to capture (kill)
move your chess piece in an occupied block (your opponent's block only)
Yes but only because it can see all of the possibilities in a short amount of time before it makes its move, even the best chess player can't do this.
