∙ 11y agoYes, you can intentionally foul if you wish. Your opponent would get ball in hand, meaning they can place the cue ball anywhere on the playing surface for their next shot, but sometimes this is the most strategic play. The only caveat would be if you pocket the 8 ball and scratch on the same shot, in which case you would lose the game.

A diamond is the mineral that can scratch itself but no other mineral can scratch it because of its exceptional hardness on the Mohs scale.
noNo other way around
If two rocks cannot scratch each other, then they would have to be of equal hardness. A harder rock can always scratch a softer rock.
Diamond is the hardest mineral and is the only one that can scratch corundum. but in my opinion corundum will scratch corundum any mineral of the same hardness will scratch the other !
Diamond is the hardest naturally occurring mineral and can scratch all other minerals. Talc is the softest of minerals and cannot scratch any other mineral.
Talc can scratch gypsum, but can be scratched by all other minerals. Talc is the softest mineral on the Mohs scale, with a hardness of 1, making it easily scratched by minerals with higher hardness values. Gypsum has a Mohs hardness of 2, so talc can leave a mark on it.
Diamond will scratch all rocks and other minerals, including itself.

Yes, other minerals can scratch hematite. Hematite has a hardness of 5.5-6.5 on the Mohs scale, so minerals with a higher hardness (like quartz or corundum) can scratch hematite.
Coal does not scratch because it is a soft and brittle material, meaning it can be easily crushed or powdered when force is applied. It does not have a hardness that would allow it to scratch other materials.
