Jurriëns, Henny (b Arnhem, 21 Feb. 1949, d9 Apr. 1989). Dutch dancer and ballet director. He studied with Winja Marova and later with Arova, Franchetti, Bon, and Kramar. From 1966 to 1970 he was a member of the Norwegian National Ballet. In 1970 he joined Dutch National Ballet, eventually becoming a principal, and created roles in many ballets by van Dantzig and van Manen. In 1988 he became artistic director of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, but the following year he and his wife, the dancer Judith James, lost their lives in an automobile accident.
