The original Radio Shack is based in the United States of America. However they do have locations in Canada which have been closed down. The Canadian stores now go under the name 'The Source.'
Each radio has its own specifc code, if you did not pull the radio and get the code for the serial number on the exsisting radio it is possible that the original radio may have been replaced before and the code you have is for the original radio. You will have to go to a dealer to get the new number with proof of ownership.
Be careful. Some cars have an anti-theft with the original radio...92 Honda. And it will not start/run without the original radio in it. However there are 4 hole (one in each corner of the face panel) that must be depress simutainiously to pull radio out.
