Yes, the fuuma(fuma or Fuhma) shuriken was allegedly created by a ninja of the fuma clan named Fuma Kotaro. What it originally looked like, or how it worked is unknown, what is known is that the shuriken was 4 pointed and collapsible. The ones you see in anime such as Naruto or games like Ninja Gaiden are stylized takes on the weapon, but it is said to exist in history. even if only once.

A shuriken is also known as a throwing star. Which way a shuriken spins depends on the motion of your wrist as you throw. You can make it go clockwise, or counter clockwise.

The Demon Wind Shuriken, or Fuma Shuriken, is a special type of shuriken in the anime Naruto, sporting blades as large as short-swords and the ability to collapse for storage. Many people have made non-collapsing models for this shuriken out of wood or paper, though an actual version would be made of metal. Some form of locking mechanism would be required for the demon wind shuriken to collapse like it does while still being usable.
Well, to be perfectly honest, no one will know unless someone searches the whole world for paper shuriken models. So far, I only know 7 ways to make paper hira-shuriken models ( the ones that you see on TV, like the ones in Naruto or something). The symmetrical four-pointed shuriken, the asymmetrical four-pointed shuriken, the eight-pointed shuriken, the transforming eight-pointed shuriken, the twelve-pointed shuriken, the sixteen-pointed shuriken, and the thirty-pointed shuriken. Google these seven models and you will be able to find tutorial videos somewhere, as I learnt 2 of the 7 models I know from tutorial videos I found on Google. I hope this helps =]
It is called shadow shuriken jitsu
The guide on how to make paper shuriken appears in Shonen Jump issue #26, which was released in 2005. It was a popular feature that showed fans how to create their own ninja weapons using paper folding techniques.

Pretty much like you throw anything. The trick with the stick shuriken is to learn how to make it land with the point first, much the same way as throwing a knife. Circular or flat shuriken are designed to have a point forward making it easier to 'stick' into someone.
