well you have to have good grades to become a cheerleader in middle/ high school but if you do competitive cheer they usually wont check your grades

grades grades and once more grades!! you could have all the connections in the world, but they could be for schools that don't have classes that you want to take. so figure out what you want to be, apply to schools that have classes that you like and need for your chosen profession, and lastly check with connections. it couldn't hurt to see who your connections know either.
It really depends on your state and county. You can take a look at the curriculum and classes offered for the higher grades, but classes are always changing, so there is no guarantee that you'll get the classes you choose now. You also might think you are going to take a specific level, but change your mind after a couple of years.
I believe colleges and universities are concerned about the overall grade point average you have attained. I do not believe one D, unless your grade point average is low, will affect you getting accepted into an university. Just make sure that the rest of your grades are good. When I say that you should have good grades, don't just take the easy no-brainer classes in order to cushion your GPA. In addition to having good grades, it helps if they are good grades in harder classes. The harder classes will get you more prepared for college, and it will be more impressive to take the harder classes.
