As a point guard, you are the floor general. You dictate where the other members of the team need to be, and unless otherwise noted, you are the leader of the team. You generally have the ball the majority of the time and account for most of the points made, whether it be from you scoring the ball or from you passing to others to score.
There is no such position as a "rear basketball guard." There is a point guard and a shooting guard only.
