In football what is the rule about jumping?
I don't have the specifics, but the premise of the rule is that
whatever you do has to be under your own power. Ex. If on 1st and
Goal at the one you jump over the pile to get to the end zone, it's
a touchdown. If you jump over the pile and someone pushes you from
behind, that's a penalty. Same goes for blocking field goals. If
you climb on someone's back in order to block a field goal, it's a
15-yd unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Recently it also became a
penalty to land on other players while blocking a kick, due to
safety concerns.
