Soft balls may appear to be hard, as do cricket, Golf and baseballs. In actual fact they only feel hard to the touch, but each ball has a certain amount of elasticity. A tennis ball has a lot of elasticity and when stuck by the racket the desire for the ball to return to its original shape is very slow, therefore will only travel a short distance. A Soft ball has even less elasticity allowing it to return to its original shape even faster. Now a much harder ball will return to its original shape much quicker, therefore enabling it to travel a further distance.

All balls are designed to get the most efficiency from them according to their use.
