If the weather is hot, or even a bit warm, that could cause headaches. Also, if you don't drink enough fluids during physical exertion, that can result in dehydration, which can cause headaches.

If you hit someone or something, or were hit, even if it was not with your head, you could have sustained an injury such as a pulled muscle, which could also cause headaches if it was in the neck, back, or shoulder area.

If the headaches lasts more than a day or two, or if it gets worse, you really need to see a doctor ASAP.

There are several possibilities for a headache. Considering that you're in football practice, the most likely reasons are: head-jarring from the stop-and-go movements associated with tackling, dehydration from the excessive loss of water through sweat or heat, or the intense emotional pressure to give it your all and succeed.

Its happened to me before. You can wear some type of head gear like a cap or bandana. Also you can ask for a bigger helmet or possibly just take some air out of the helmet.
