The game demands a play multi tasks continually. Coordination therefore is vital. Examples of this are running and kicking the ball to try and catch it behind the defender, 2nd rows being lifted in the line catching the ball, maintaining balance and twisting to pass the ball to their receiver

To catch the ball, pass the ball or even kick ahead requires that the player sees that ball, the target and the route to the receiving player. The receiving player must time their run to catch the ball so keep an eye on the approaching players and the ball AND the route they may have to take to reach the gain line requires timing, and the ability to see the ball and their route all about the same time or they will end up dropping the ball miss passing or passing to an opposing team player
