Yes there are, but seeing as you play on a different surface, sliding and the way you defend goals changes.

ice hockey is a very interesting sport. the sport is played on ice, obviously and is all about scoring goals. a big part is preventing goals. this job is meant for defensive players and goalies but is sometimes portrayed by forwards, as to scoring goals done by denfense.
The defenceman prevents the other team from scoring goals. They can go in the goalie box with the goalie. They basicly are the people who are second goalies, except they can not hanle the puck with their hands.

Their primary job is to keep the puck from going into the net.
Hockey goalies leave the net during a game to give their team an extra player on the ice during important situations, such as when they are losing and need to score a goal. This strategy is called pulling the goalie.
Hockey teams heavily rely on their goalies to make crucial saves during a game. Goalies play a critical role in preventing the opposing team from scoring and are often the last line of defense. Their performance can greatly impact the outcome of a game.
Goals Against Average, of GAA, is a statistical category applied to goalies or teams. It is the average number of goals scored against a team in a set number of games. For example, if, in a season of 82 games a team got scored on 250 times, the team's GAA would be 3.05.
