Inuit did not use ice. They used sod and wooden beams that they cut. The typical traditional inuit 'house' used sod, wood, rocks, and whatever else they wanted to put into it. But now they live in regular houses.

Many Inuit, Yupik, Aleut and other individuals consider the term Eskimo to be unacceptable.
