Dilfer signed with the Ravens on March 8, 2000 and became the backup quarterback. The Ravens did not re-sign Trent Dilfer after Super Bowl XXXV in 2001 because they were looking for an elite starting quarterback. Dilfer also had personal problems off the field even before the death of his 5 year old son in 2003. His personal problems became public after he admitted he was 265 lbs and drinking himself to sleep during his tenure with the Seahawks. He currently serves as an NFL analyst for ESPN.
