Many people say he is. But whether he is or not Babe Ruth will always be remembered as a great legend.
I would say Babe Ruth
Babe Ruth wanted to retire. All of his fans where upset so they asked him questions and stuff like that. So, Babe Ruth gave his speech to say goodbye to his fans and fellow Yankees players.
Some say that the answer is Babe Ruth
This really depends on the age of the person. People over 40 would generally say Babe Ruth is more famous. Younger people might say Bruce Lee is more famous than Babe Ruth. It really just depends on the person.
no
i would have to say babe Ruth
The best player in baseball I'd say is Babe Ruth.
In all probability, Japanese Naval pilots didn't carry "tape-recorders" in their cockpits while flying their missions. This wasn't the "jet age" (or Space Age, Atomic Age, or Computer Age) with high technology. So what those airmen said to themselves or their fellow crewmen during the aerial attack is anybody's choice to state. However, men in combat say an incredible amount of NON-Politically Correct statements when in the heat of battle. And the "...hell with Babe Ruth..." statement would certainly be a more humorous thing to say; and quite possible, as it was a world wide known fact (in the 1930's/1940's) that men in the US preferred "Baseball/Football" over war any day! It seems that that remark would be very possible.
Yes! He did call his shot. That's what I think. It the biggest mystery in sports history so some people say yes like me, but some say no which really ruins the excitement for me........yes, he did call the shot at Wrigley Field :)
Babe Ruth had 8399 official at bats and got 2873 base hits. That would mean Ruth got out approximately 5526 times. I say approximately because a batter is charged with an at bat if he gets on base due to an error.
He got the nickname soon after he signed with minor-league Baltimore Orioles at the age of 19 -- at the time, legally a minor. His story is that his fellow players considered him a "babe in the woods" for his naivete; others say he was the team owner's "babe" because of Ruth's young age. The nickname stuck.
