Did the Japanese pilots really say to hell with Babe Ruth during the attack on pearl harbor?
In all probability, Japanese Naval pilots didn't carry
"tape-recorders" in their cockpits while flying their missions.
This wasn't the "jet age" (or Space Age, Atomic Age, or Computer
Age) with high technology. So what those airmen said to themselves
or their fellow crewmen during the aerial attack is anybody's
choice to state. However, men in combat say an incredible amount of
NON-Politically Correct statements when in the heat of battle. And
the "...hell with Babe Ruth..." statement would certainly be a more
humorous thing to say; and quite possible, as it was a world wide
known fact (in the 1930's/1940's) that men in the US preferred
"Baseball/Football" over war any day! It seems that that remark
would be very possible.
