Reggie Lewis suffered cardiac arrest while practicing off-season in the Brandeis University gym. Two Brandeis police officers found him while patrolling and attempted to revive him by performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, but Reggie was declared dead in the hospital less than three hours later. He was 27 years old.
