In the 1950s and 1960s, Alabama used to play one home game in at Ladd Stadium in Mobile every season. Southern Mississippi also held 'home' games at Ladd in the 50s and 60s. It made sense to schedule the game there to accommodate both schools. Alabama and Southern Miss played their annual game in Mobile in 1966, 1967, and 1968.
