It didn't. It was originally played in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1947 and 1948 before moving on to Wichita, Kansas in 1949 before coming to a permanent home in Omaha, NE.. Where it has been since 1950. The last CWS was held in Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium in 2010 With the University of South Carolina Gamecocks winning it's first championship in any sport.

Next year the CWS moves to downtown Omaha and the TD Ameritrade Stadium.

Because Omaha has supported the College World Series since its arrival in 1954. When no one cared about College Baseball, Omaha always did!! The CWS should ALWAYS be no where but OMAHA!!
