To date, the only black QB to win a Super Bowl is Doug Williams of the Washington Redskins (MVP of Super Bowl XXII). However, Williams was not the only black quarterback to play in the Super Bowl. Donovan McNabb quarterbacked the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX but lost to the Patriots.
Doug Williams led the Washington Redskins to a 42-10 victory over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII. He was also named the game's Most Valuable Player.
On February 2, 2014, Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks became the second African-American quarterback to win a Super Bowl. He was at the helm when the Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos 43 to 8 in Super Bowl XLVIII. The first was Doug Williams of the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl XXII on January 31, 1988.
