Only older players, such as Mariano Rivera on the Yankees still wear the number 42 since they wore it before it was retired. This year however for some reason all blue jays are wearing the number 42... I would like to know why :S
He didn't. He wore #23. He also wore #45 when he played minor league baseball for the Birmingham Barons. When he returned to the NBA he wore #45 briefly but eventually went back to #23.
