The 1957 World Series was won by the National League's Milwaukee Braves over the AL's New York Yankees 4 games to 3. The Braves were led by Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews and pitchers Warren Spahn and Lew Burdette who won three games in the series. However, during the season the Braves acquired 2b Red Schoendiest from the New York Giants in a trade that many feel solidified the team and help carry them to the pennant and the World Championship. In the trade, the Braves sent 2b Danny O'Connell, OF Bobby Thomson and Pitcher Jim Crone to the Giants to get the veteran Schoendiest.
