The NFL Championship for the 1958 season was won by the Baltimore Colts, who beat the New York Giants 23-17 in overtime. The game was played in Yankee Stadium, NYC, on December 28, 1958. It was the first NFL game decided in sudden-death overtime. NFL Hall of Fame QB Johnny Unitas led the Colts, and Raymond Berry caught an NFL Championship record 12 passes. Playing for New York were the later television icons Frank Gifford and Pat Summerall. THe Colts also beat the Giants the following season, 31-17.
