Mike Schmidt of the Philadelphia Phillies won the World Series MVP award in 1980. He also won the regular season MVP that year. Willie Stargell, Reggie Jackson, Frank Robinson, and Sandy Koufax are the only other players to win both awards in the same season.

Bret Saberhagen of the Kansas City Royals won the World Series MVP award in 1985. He also won the the Cy Young award that year. Orel Hershiser, Whitey Ford and Sandy Koufax are the only other players to win both awards in the same season.
