The person on the heisman is Desmond Howard. He went to the University of Michigan. He invented the heisman pose. And he was the first person from Michigan to win the heisman. The second was Charles Woodson and both of them ended up on the Green Bay Packers.
Well, Jay Berwanger won the first DAC (Downtown Athletic Club) Award, which the next year was renamed the Heisman Trophy. The first person to win the award under the name "Heisman Trophy" was Larry Kelley.
