Franco Harris was the number one back for the Steelers in the 70's. Rocky Bleier was the second back in the backfield, but not a backup. They were the Steelers running game. Some of their backups were Reggie Harrison, Sidney Thornton, Preston Pearson, Warren Bankston, Steve Davis and Rick Moser. John Fuqua was the number one back before Franco Harris came into the league in 1972. Eventually, Rocky Bleier would take over the second position from Fuqua.
