Throughout the 70's, the Flyers were known as the "Broad Street Bullies." The Spectrum, where they played their home games was located near the end of Broad Street. And often, visiting players developed " Philly Fever" when playing because of the way the Flyers would "Bully" their way through other teams. And, when they played the Soviets, they cemented that reputation, when they had the team leave the ice and refuse to play with all the hard hits that were dished out.
